Xiaomi Pad 6 Speakers

Audio Capabilities

Both tablets use the same four-channel quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support. The sound quality wins hands down against the more budget orientated Redmi Pad but still falls short of Apple’s tablet audio dominance.

The dual-speakers on each side of the tablet mean you’ll never get muffled audio when using the tablet in landscape mode and greatly improves the immersive feeling when watching movies or playing games.

Video Calling

Both the tablets feature directional or 360 audio 4-Microphone arrays for clear audio quality. They also both use software-based facial tracking to keep you in the centre of the frame.

The big difference is in the hardware. The 20MP lens used on the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro offers better facials tracking with a clearer image making it more suitable for business video calls.

That being said, for social video calling, you might not care about the better low light clarity and sharper video quality.

Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro

  • Front Facing Camera: 20MP
  • Face Tracking: yes
  • Microphone: 4x Directional Mics

Xiaomi Pad 6 (non-pro)

  • Front Facing Camera: 8MP Wide Angle
  • Face Tracking: yes
  • Microphone: 4x Directional Mics

Unless you have a WiFi 6e ready router, you won’t be able to take advantage of the better connectivity baked into the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro. The difference between Bluetooth 5.2 and Bluetooth 5.3 is also very minimal with only a slight improvement in signal switching.

Xiaomi Pad 6 Vs Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro – Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for a media tablet or don’t need the gaming grunt of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, then you’ll be better off saving a few bucks and opting for the regular Xiaomi Pad 6.

If you regularly play high-end Android games or want to emulate consoles on your tablet. Then the Pro is for you.

While you’re getting an amazing display on both devices, you’ll be able to take advantage of the higher frame-rate when gaming more easily on the Pro Variant.

What’s the price difference for the extra performance & improved cameras? You’ll be looking at around $100/£100 premium for the 6 Pro variant.

This time around, I’m gonna give the win to the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro. I think the extra grunt, better video calling and connectivity future-proofing a fair trade for the extra upfront cost.
